1. I swear by the Day of Resurrection,

5. But man desires to continue sinning ahead of him.
6. He asks, “When will this Day of Resurrection be?”
7. So when the sight is dazzled,
8. And the moon is darkened,
9. And the sun and the moon are brought together,
10. On that Day man will say, “Where is the escape?”
11. No! There is no refuge.
12. To your Lord, that Day, is the final destination.
13. On that Day, man will be informed of what he sent forward and what he left behind.
14. In fact, man will be a witness against himself,
15. Even though he puts forth his excuses.
16. Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it.
17. Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation.
18. So when We have recited it, then follow its recitation.

20. No! But you love the fleeting world,
21. And leave behind the Hereafter.
22. Some faces on that Day will be bright,
23. Looking towards their Lord,
24. And some faces on that Day will be gloomy,
25. Knowing that a crushing calamity is about to fall upon them.
26. No! When the soul reaches the collarbone,
27. And it is said, “Who will cure him now?”
28. And he realizes that it is the time of parting,
29. And the leg is wound around the other leg,
30. To your Lord, that Day, will be the drive.
31. But he neither believed nor prayed,
32. Instead, he denied and turned away,
33. Then he went to his people walking arrogantly.
34. Woe to you, and woe!
35. Again, woe to you, and woe!
36. Does man think he will be left neglected?
37. Was he not a drop of emitted fluid?
38. Then he became a clinging clot, and Allah created and proportioned him,
39. And made from him the two kinds, male and female.
